5 Tips for Planning a Small Wedding at Home

Planning a small and cozy wedding at home, that contains at most around 50 members of family and friends, may seem an easy task on the surface. However, with all the pressure of other wedding related errands, the difficulty of such a task proves it’s underlying complexity. These 5 tips will help you plan the perfect small wedding while minimising the stress and anxiety that may come with it.

1. Make your List

It is so common that when you’re caught up in stressing and planning, there are many things that fall through the cracks, even for small weddings. By making a list (even one in your notes app so that it’s always with you) not only are you able to keep track of everything that is done and everything that needs to be done, you are also able to divide your time and plan your days effectively. That includes the smallest of details such as making a phone call to the florist or picking the right nail colour.

2. Filter the Guest List

Guests are, of course, the largest part of every celebration and when you have a large group of friends and invitees, this often clashes with your decision to keep the wedding small. So, invite immediate family members and then choose between the rest of your potential guests. There are friends you see daily and friends who you rarely see. Think about who you really want to have with you on your special day.

3. Ask for Help

Ask for help in some of the planning. Your family, fiance, or even close friends could be able to help out if you simply assign them 1-2 tasks for them to take care of. Even if you think you can do it all on your own, asking for help on some tasks will give you more time to focus on your own rest and preparation.

4. Book in Advance

So many people think of their favorite makeup artists and hairstylists and assume that person will simply be available to them at the last minute. Everyone has a busy schedule. Make your list and then immediately make your calls and BOOK. Important appointments such as doing your makeup, hair, and even booking the Shaikh who will perform the official wedding ceremony are all important appointments that should be scheduled in advance.

5. Keep it Simple

When planning a small event, try and keep the details simple to avoid stressing yourself out. Don't try and recreate Cinderella's ballroom in your parents backyard. Instead, work with the decor and furniture that you have and try to enhance it with simple additions such as flowers and fairy lights. The simpler the setup, the easier it will be for you to put it together.

We hope these tips help you plan a beautiful event. Now, it’s time for you to relax and enjoy all that you’ve put together. Dance the night away, take memorable pictures, and cherish this special day with your loved ones.
